The Definitive Yokai Field Guide

‘The Definitive Yokai Field Guide’ introduces you to the fascinating world of Japanese folklore. Yokai are supernatural beings that you can encounter anywhere; under a bridge, in the garden, in the refrigerator, under your bed, et cetera. Are things happening in your life that you cannot explain? Then you are probably having a run-in with a yokai.

Japanese comic artist Shigeru Mizuki (1922-2015), known for works such as ‘GeGeGe no Kitaro’, has been fascinated by yokai his entire life. Consequently, ‘The Definitive Yokai Field Guide’ was published by him to familiarize everyone with the many forms of spirits, phantoms, and monsters. In the book, you will read about their history, where to find them, and a description of 80 of the most famous yokai.
