Milky Way – Miguel Vila – (176 pages, English, hardcover, published by Fantagraphics)

Milky Way

The relationship between Marco and Stella has become a rut when single mother Ludovica (‘Lulu’) enters the picture. Stella regularly looks after her young son Loris while Lulu works at an ice cream parlor in town. When Stella introduces Lulu to Marco, he is immediately captivated by her enormous breasts. As things go downhill between Marco and Stella, Lulu’s breasts become an obsession for him…

‘Milky Way’ is a psychological drama about relationships, sex, and untamed lust by Italian comic artist Miguel Vila. His caricatural style seamlessly aligns with the exaggerated personalities in the story. The comic artist hides nothing, and everything is on display, from Marco’s voyeurism and his girlfriend Stella’s hypocrisy to the raw sex and masturbation scenes. But all of this serves an intriguing story in which the characters are victims of their own flaws. ‘Milky Way’ is a captivating, raw, realistic erotic thriller that showcases what this comic artist is capable of.
